Confidential Helpline
The Helpline forms a vital part of the network of support that many survivors need.
Abuse thrives on secrecy, and speaking out and acknowledging what happened can be
a very important part of healing. The Helpline is run by trained and dedicated volunteer
workers, women who understand how difficult it can be to make that call. You may
be feeling alone, sad or isolated, or you may just want to know that there is somebody
there who wants to listen. It is o.k. to talk about whatever you want to.
As well as providing a listening support service for those seeking emotional support,
the Helpline also offers an up to date Information Service, dedicated to providing
service users with information that may be of use to survivors and their supporters,
including information about issues associated with sexual abuse.
The calls we receive vary greatly from women wanting information, women wanting
to talk & silent calls. Some women survivors talk about sensitive issues to do with
their abuse and others never mention their abuse. The callers to the helpline are
mostly women whose ages range from sixteen to seventy-five.
The Helpline is for women survivors and those supporting them. It is completely
confidential, nobody is asked to give their name or any other details. The Helpline
is open on a Wednesday & Friday evening from 7 – 9pm. You can call us for up to
an hour at a time and we will always be happy to hear from you. If you would like
to call us, the telephone number is -

remind me that it’s o.k. to feel the way I do and that I’m not alone.”
