Volunteering
Becoming a Volunteer for Survivors’ Network
The Networks Helpline and Drop-in services are staffed entirely by highly trained
and professionally supervised volunteers, ordinary women from the community, some
of whom have been sexually abused themselves and worked through their trauma. All
are committed to offering high quality, safe and confidential services to the women
who contact us.
Before working at our services, all volunteers receive intensive training, which
takes place at weekends, and are asked to commit for a period of six months. Following
this period, volunteers will be awarded a Survivors’ Network Training Certificate.
All volunteer workers attend regular supervision, which is provided by an external
supervisor.
If you are interested in volunteering for Survivors Network, then get in touch and
find out more. We will tell you when the next volunteer training course will be
run. We will ask you to complete an application form and invite you along to meet
us and attend an interview.
Becoming a Survivors’ Network Trustee
Survivors’ Network is run by a Management Committee, a group of women who meet on
a monthly basis to make decisions about the future of the organisation and day to
day running of the Network. Our Management Committee is currently made up of 7 Trustees,
two paid staff and two volunteer representatives from the Drop-in & Helpline Service.
Trustees are volunteers, who come from all backgrounds and bring with them different
skills and experience to contribute to the running of the organisation. We would
like to thank all our Trustees for all that they give and for caring so much about
our services and the women who use them.
If you are interested in becoming a Trustee for Survivors Network then please contact
us and we will give you more information.
